A quote

from Julie Gunkelman, Executive Director of CHARISM

“For the at-risk child, finding personal success in and/or out of

school is especially difficult.  CHARISM’s skill-based after-school

and summer outreach programs build healthy social and literacy

skills into children that otherwise would be left to fend for

themselves.  Funds from the Women’s Fund support this intervention.

The first grant awarded by the Women’s Fund was to Ronald McDonald House for $1,500 to remodel the south campus in 2004.

Since then nearly $70,000 in grants have been awarded to 37 agencies ranging in amounts from $100 to $5,873.

In 2009 the grant requests totaled $112,360.00.  The Endowment was able to fund $11,185.00
