Our Scholarships

Our scholarship funds provide financial assistance to students working to reach their fullest potential through education and training.  

The FM Area Foundation manages more than 60 scholarship funds. These funds were created by generous individuals, families and businesses to provide financial assistance for students pursuing higher education and training. For the 2021-2022 academic year, we awarded $334,825 to deserving students!

Some of the scholarships you’ll find below are awarded to students from a certain high school, while others are awarded to students going into specific areas of study, such as nursing or engineering. Each scholarship has its own set of eligibility requirements. To see if you may be eligible for a scholarship, please search the list below. 

We are now accepting applications for the 2022-2023 academic year. 

  • Leonard and Donna Richards Scholarship- Moorhead High School

    Application Deadline: February 28, 2022

    Applicant must be a graduating Senior at Moorhead High School. 

    Preference will be given to a student planning to pursue a course of study in Music. 

    Please Note: This award is paid at the beginning of the student's second semester.

  • Lisa Undem Scholarship Fund

    Applicant must be a graduating senior from West Fargo High School or Sheyenne High School who is pursuing a career in Nursing. 

    Please Note: Scholarship has potential to be renewable based on met criteria.

  • Liudahl Fine Arts and Service Scholarship

    Application Deadline: April 8, 2022

    Scholarship is administered Kindred High School.

    Applicant must have participated in at least one of the fine arts programs offered at Kindred High School in grades 9-12.

    Applicant must show examples of leadership/community service volunteer experience.

  • Liudahl Teaching, Education & Administrative Assistant Scholarship Fund

    Application Deadline: April 8, 2022

    Scholarship is administered by West Fargo High Schools.

    Applicant must have participated in at least one of the fine arts programs offered at West Fargo High School from grades 9-12.

    Applicant must show examples of leadership/community service volunteer experience.
